Short snippets of information.

It was about time for a new look here. The theme I was using before I had built off of an existing theme. Since I was just getting familiar with WordPress I kept it simple. Many months later and having played around a lot with it, I’ve grabbed this great theme and am still in the process of getting things setup. I’ll probably alter the theme it a bit to give some flavor but out of the box this theme is just great and I see very little that I need to bother altering.

As previously mentioned, I’m assembling and doing some paint work for Joe on his Space Marine company. The large box full of stuff showed up yesterday and I got a start on putting together a few Predators. It’s going to be a long process but it will be quite the accomplishment to have done a full company. There’s also some nice Forge World stuff in there, a few Dreadnoughts and Red Scorpions. I haven’t gone completely through everything yet, there’s just so much!

This morning Joe contacted me about doing some work for a full Space Marine company he has. Joe has 6 Tactical squads, 2 Devastator squads, a 6-man Assault squad, 6 Land Speeders, about 10 Dreadnoughts and 3 Predators. I’ll be doing the modeling on the company, cleaning them up, assembling them and priming them for him. I’ll also be doing some base painting on the infantry. It’s going to be a big task but it will be very cool to see a full company all at once. I’ll be sure to get shots once the projects gets fully underway.

Well, snowing up here in Maine and it’s early November…go figure. Meanwhile, not much to report. I’ve been working on my own miniatures lately, slowly trying to complete my Space Marine army and making steady progress. I still have to get some images up as I complete units…some day.

Joaquin asked me to do a Drow Assassin for him, a Reaper model. I have since received and managed to finish the model and will get some shots up once the sun comes out. September in Maine is hit or miss for sunshine.

Haven’t had any commission work lately so I’ve been able to get back to working on my Space Marine army. Making some good progress on it but it will be a good many months before the army is complete. When I have time, and we get some sunny weather around here, I’ll take some shots of the army and get them posted up.

The completed figures were sent out and now in Mike’s hands while I finish up the last 3 figures. If things stay on track then those last 5 will be in the mail this week.

Work continues and there’s seven left to complete of the original twenty five. Hopefully I’ll get some pictures up this week, maybe tomorrow. If things continue at this pace then I should be complete by next week.

I had meant to get some pictures up by now but I’ve been too busy painting them to take pictures of them. So far ten of them are completely painted and two more are almost complete. Once the weather dries up a bit I can seal them and send the first ten back to Mike. I will get some shots before I mail them out and get them posted up here.

The miniatures Mike was shipping to me showed up last night. Originally I was going to be doing 10 more for him but a change in plans has me now doing 25! These are some nice looking figures too, some Reaper ones in the mix, which is much more like what I’m used to working with in terms on scale and style than the previous Nobles I had done for him, should be fun!  Read more...
