The Grot Revolution: The Gretchin of Malichor III part 2
Hello all,
I didn’t manage to get much done on the Rebel Grots last week so I thought I’d put up the next chapter of their background for today’s post.
The Grot Revolution: The Gretchin of Malichor III part 1
Although none of Grottrogg’s troops landed on the food production planet Malichor III some spores did reach the planet surface on the larger chunks of debris. As Grottrogg’s conquest spread across Malichor IV small bands of feral orks began to appear across Malichor III.

Ork Fluff: Grottrogg invades Malichor IV
One of two habitable planets in the Malichor solar system, Malichor IV was a minor Imperial industrial planet located a long way from any of the primary shipping routes. Despite the regular flow of munitions, vehicles, and recruits for the Imperial Army it was considered of minimal tactical importance because it was out of the way and had been relatively unmolested by any alien menace. The planet has three small moons each of which is equipped with a network of powerful defensive batteries that had been sufficient to ward off any marauders who happened upon them. A ring of mineral rich asteroids ensured that Malichor IV could maintain production with little need for incoming supplies, and Malichor III was able to produce enough food and textiles to support both planets. In short, the Malichor system was remote and self sufficient enough to have been essentially forgotten by Imperial accountants.
Grottrogg’s Big Day
On the surface Grottrogg did not seem particularly special. He was kunnin, sure, but not any more kunnin than your typical Blood Axe nob. He was as tough, strong, and brutal as his fellow nobs but still nothing out of the ordinary. What set Grottrogg apart was luck. He had always been lucky and he had learned to recognize when to take advantage of any unexpected turn of events but he had also learned not to push his luck too far. It was this luck, and his ability to seize upon any opportunity, that would set Grottrogg apart time and time again.
