September Team Tournament Wrap-up
This was the second team tournament I’ve done and like the last time I had a good time. It’s nice to have someone to confer with and discuss strategy as you play. Of course there’s the interesting pairings that occur too that make for fun games.

40K Rules Quiz #2: Movement & Shooting
One of the easiest ways to become a better 40K player is to know the rules inside and out. Even veterans will re-read the rules to freshen up and make sure they know their stuff. So, I thought it would be fun to do a 40K quiz. I’ll chop the rulebook into sections and post a quiz for each. I’m aiming to quiz on the more obscure stuff and by obscure I mean items you may have overlooked, not known or always been fuzzy on. Some questions will be easy but hopefully overall the quizzes will be a challenge to anyone taking them. Oh, goes without saying but don’t use the rulebook to look up the answers. I want to test knowledge, not ability to research.

Mission: The Long Haul v1.01
Based on some great feedback by eriochrome I’ve changed up the mission a bit. So, here’s v1.01 of The Long Haul mission. I changed the deployment zones to be larger and also changed how outflanking is done. Eriochrome had suggested a cool method he’s used on a mission but I ended up going with an idea I had. I just wanted something simple for outflank.

Mission Idea #4: Attack and Defend
So far the missions I’ve written have been well received at the shop so I wanted to write up some more. This one is based off the 4th Edition mission Recon. If you’re not sure what I’m posting about, see Mission Idea #1: The Long Haul.

August Tournament Results
Crossroad Games, the LGS I play at, was having a store anniversary this weekend with lots of stuff going on and one event was a 1,750 tournament for 40K. There was no entry fee and my plans allowed for me to attend so I headed down there yesterday.

Last minute change of plans means I’m able to attend the LGS anniversary 40K tournament. Heading down to the shop shortly to attend some festivities and get in some practice for tomorrow. I’m going to try and get a tournament wrap up posted on Monday.
Imperium vs Xenos Campaign Concludes
In hindsight I should have been posting about this as we were doing it, ah well. At the LGS over the past five weeks we’ve been doing a campaign that was the Imperium vs Xenos. Each week we’d have a scenario created by Dave, employee at the shop, and battle it out to gain points for our side. Our missions ranged from 2,250 games to Kill Team. The entire campaign was a blast and last night we wrapped up in brutal fashion.

Mission Idea #3: Target Priority
Here’s the final mission idea. I wanted to create three since our tournaments run three games. If you’re not sure what I’m posting about, see Mission Idea #1: The Long Haul.

Mission Idea #1: The Long Haul
When it comes to tournaments at the LGS I play at, we always end up playing the same missions over and over. There’s about six of them and they are recycled every month. They get mixed up a bit but still the same old ones we’ve played countless times. I know another player at the shop was working on some missions for the tournaments to use so I thought I’d join the cause. Here’s an idea for a tournament mission, feedback is welcomed.

July’s 1,850 Tournament Results
Another long and mentally tiring game of moving plastic models around a table and rolling dice. I didn’t fair poorly but I did not win the tournament and did not win any consolation prizes either, IE: best army, best sport and…there was another one. For the day I went 2-1, getting a massacre win, a minor loss and then a major win. Here’s the quick and dirty, oh and I was playing my Ork list that I mentioned here:

Today the 1,850 tournament at Crossroad Games commences at noon. Because of ‘ard Boyz, I have not played in a tournament since March, so I’m looking forward to today. Time to print off the army list and gather the Boyz into the transport. Waaagh!
