Hobby: Plague Champion 2 Complete (Pics)
Finally got this guy wrapped up and I’m pretty pleased with how he came out. I’m one of those people who paints based on value and position. Meaning my HQs and elites see more love than troop choices. However, with my Plague Marines in general I’ve spent more time on them then I would a normal Chaos Marine. My Sarges/Nobs/Champions always get more time then the rest of the unit but still not as substantial as other models I’ll paint for the army.

Painting: WIP Plague Champion & Magnet Mounter
This Plague Champion is the final model in this particular unit and he’s close to completion. Though further from completion are shots of his arms which are magnetized. I took the shots not so much to show the arms as the simple setup I have for the magnetized arms. The ‘arm holder’ is just some scrap stuff glued together with magnets on the end of the T. It’s great for holding the arms to prime, seal, let dry when using washes and to ensure my magnet polarity is always correct.

Disciples of Twilight: Minor Update
Thor’s Workbench: December 20th
It’s been a week since I put up the first workbench so in an attempt to keep myself on track I’ll aim to get a new one up each week.

Reavers pics: Skyclaw and Thunderwolf Cavlary WIP
Just a brief update on my current projects. I wanted to add a couple of fast moving units to my army so I’ve been working on a unit of Skyclaws and some Thunderwolf Cavalry.
Hobby: Plague Marines Squad 2 Almost Complete
The other day to motivate myself I started a workbench article and surprisingly it worked. Last night I wrapped up 5 Plague Marines. I really should have taken some WIPs while doing the sculpting but unfortunately I did not. These guys are converted from standard Chaos Marines and some old school Possessed heads. I put the Champion in the shots just to show the full squad even if he’s not painted yet. The empty-handed guys are my specialists and I just haven’t painted their weapons yet.

Thor’s Workbench: December 13th
I’m in a big slump lately with hobby stuff. I recently moved my painting area to somewhere that made more sense but at the same time also put it further from reach. Before it was in front of me constantly and now I need to make an effort to go paint. It’s like going to the gym. You take a few days off from it and you find it hard to go back and make time for it.

Fluff: Disciples of Twilight
As I’m making slow progress on painting my Chaos Marines, Disciples of Twilight, I’m also slowly trying to work on their fluff but have admittedly not gotten very far with it. I’m one of those people where the fluff helps drives my motivation with an army. It’s one reason I’ve managed so many games with Fate’s Angels, my vanilla Marines; they have some relatively established fluff. Without the fluff it’s just some plastic dudes I roll dice with.
Kamui’s Summer Challenge 2011: Wrap-up Pictures
Well, as I mentioned in my last post I’ve not managed to paint 2000 points of Reavers by the end of summer. I did manage to get 1850 by the Standish Standoff, and I’ve been happy with the performance of what I’ve got. I did struggle in the last game against Stealthy Stealth’s orks, but my shooting rolls were horrendous so I can’t really blame the list. I also made a couple of mistakes throughout the day but I came in 11th for battle points with two wins and a loss. Here’s a few pictures of what I’ve finished, as well as the Thunderwolf Cavalry I’m working on:

Hobby: Quick Update
With The Standoff being over I can now get back to my Chaos Marines. I put them on hold for the past few months to get ready for last month’s tournament and then the big event The Standoff this month.
Hobby: Chaos Update
Sadly no images but this past weekend I made some great progress on my Chaos army. I finally finished fixing all the models. The previous owner had parts glued to the wrong units, IE: Berzerker shoulders and arms on an undivided Marine. All the right parts are now on the right models and all mold lines are cleaned up. Most everything that needs to be magnetized now is, just a few arms left to do.

Hobby: WIP Chaos Terminator
In a earlier post I mentioned I had finally come up with a paint scheme I was happy with. Here’s the concept:

Hobby: Khorne Berzerker Painted
To break up the fun of cleaning off mold lines on countless models I painted up a Khorne Berzerker. You’ll have to pardon the lack of lighting. It’s an overcast day and I didn’t feel much like setting up something to get better lighting, I’m lazy :)

Hobby: Chaos Concept Coming Together
I’ve set myself a lofty goal with my Chaos army. In November my FLGS is hosting a large tournament that is very hobby oriented and I’d love to play my Chaos army. The problem is getting all the conversions done and everything painted in about two months. I may not make it, in which case I’ll just field my Marines, but I’m going to try to push for it.
Kamui’s Summer Challenge 2011: Falling behind
Raemos, my counts-as-Bjorn conversion, has taken a little longer than I had hoped, putting me about a week behind on the rest of the army. The good news is that I’m happy with the way the model is coming together so I think it’s been worth the delay:

Kamui’s Summer Challenge 2011: Bjorn Again
In my last post I included pictures of the pilot for my counts-as-Bjorn dreadnought, Raemos Sun-fist. This model is based on an AOBR dread but I wanted something more distinctive for something that represents a Bjorn equivalent so I decided to replace the front of the model with the gunner cockpit from an Eldar Falcon and make the pilot visible. This is the result so far:
