My Change of View on Army Composition
Those who read regularly know that attending tournaments is still pretty new for me and I’ve only attended ones held at the LGS. The first one I attended was overwhelming. I show up last minute with an army I threw together in 10 minutes and get handed a scoring sheet. I then spent the day figuring out what the hell I was doing. Ok, so there’s a massacre, major and minor win and the possibility of a draw, all worth varying points. Oh, there’s these bonus points…how does this all work? Sportsmanship and painting, easy enough to figure out. Army composition score…what’s this?

Your Expectations of a 40K Game
This is a bit of a spin off from a topic on a forum I frequent in which someone was asking about reputation ruining. He was asking what is it that ruins the reputation of a player in your eyes, IE: cheesy lists, power gaming, etc. This got me thinking about the other side of that question, your expectations of a game. If someone bringing a tournament list to a friendly game ruins your experience and perception of that player then it’s because it went against your gaming expectations.
When the Planets Align
Some times you wonder if all those beatings you are receiving on the table are finally going to manifest into something more than bruised pride. You tell yourself that with each loss you are learning, and you should be unless your an egomaniac and blame everything but yourself for the loss. So you take another loss, shake hands, collect your army and think about the match and analyze it pondering where your mistakes were, how you could have played it better. You take those lessons in loss to heart, evaluate your list, adjust your tactics and hope the next game fairs better for you.
Experiences Against the New Blood Angels
I’ve now played three games against the new Blood Angels with my Orks. I have not seen everything the codex has to offer of course but I’ve certainly seen some of the key units and rules in those games.

What Does Your Gaming Record Say?
BoLS just posted up an article called Wargaming ASKEW: Arrogance is Bliss? and it got me thinking a little bit. What exactly does your gaming record say? Does having mostly wins with very few losses mean you’re a great player? On the other hand, does barely being able to win a game mean you’re terrible? I don’t think it’s really that cut and dry and I’ll use myself as an example. I just posted a page with my gaming record, you can find it here. I broke it down into 4th and 5th edition and you’ll see I don’t have an amazing record. It’s not terrible but if you look at it you probably don’t see a player you’re afraid to face, especially against my Necrons! I don’t consider myself a bad player but certainly not one of the best out there either, I’d say I’m above average but my record would seem to contradict that. Let me explain.
