Kamui’s Workbench: A Tale of Two Speeders continued
Hello all,
A few weeks back I picked up a couple of land speeders to add some mobility to my Reavers (Space Wolves.) I got them cheap on eBay but they were in need of some repairs. For those of you who haven’t seen them (and those of you who have a memory like mine and have forgotten,) you can see how they started here and how the repairs went here.
I’ve since finished the builds and have begun painting them. I want to field them as Typhoons for the April Assault this weekend so I built some Typhoon Missile Launchers for them using styrene sheet. While I’m posting WIP shots I thought I’d include a mini-tutorial for them.
Games Workshop: Doing something right?
As you may remember from my rant about Games Workshop’s late coming Thunderwolf Cavalry, I find myself needing to re-base my counts as TWC on 60mm bases. I could probably get by with the bases I have since most of the people at the FLGS are very understanding when it comes to issues of base size, WYSIWYG, proxies, etc. But that’s beside the point, my neurosis requires me to re-base them. I have a friend who for similar reasons has decided to re-base his Tervigon conversion on large oval bases. So we decided to go in together on a bits order from Games Workshop Direct as they carry these bases for less than they can be purchased on eBay. I’d also been eyeing the Space Wolf Accessories Sprue so I threw that into the order to bump us into free shipping.
Battle Report: Spectre Studio “New” Character
This is a Spectre Studio’s different style video Battle Report by Spectre Senence. What’s the change? Well I have played this hobby awhile and I enjoy playing with a fun personality into my armies. This stems from decades as a Dungeon Master. So I decided I want to improve the entertaining value of Spectre Studio’s battle reports without sacrificing too much content so they hold no tactica value. So the attempt is to infused some of my crazy concepts into the armies I play while filming these BatReps.

Kamui’s Workbench: A tale of two speeders
Hello all,
Last week I posted pics of two land speeders that I’d just purchased on eBay. You may remember that they were in less than ideal condition. Being a bit of a bargain hunter I found it difficult to resist the price and decided to take the challenge. I wanted to take you along with me on the road to recovery for these two neglected speeders.

DIY Drop Pods Paint in Progress
Last week I showed my WIP DIY drop pods. In a push to get them table top ready for a team tournament this past weekend I managed to get them assembled and primed with a little bit of paint on them.

Kamui’s Workbench: DIY Drop Pods
The Reavers are a Space Wolves lost company based on a space hulk with little to no control of where they wander. This has led them to specialize in ship to ship and ship-board combat. For planet side encounters they make heavy use of drop pods in lieu of more valuable transports.
I have 3 DIY drop pods that have seen heavy use in my hybrid lists. More recently I’ve proxied two additional pods more of a pure pod based list and been happy with the results. This means I need to build two more pods. I decided to use the same templates as used for my older pods but take them a step further.

Spectre Studio BatRep Episode 1 Part 2 – 5
Spectre Studio’s continued parts to Episode 1 fight between Spectre Senence’s Tyranids of Hive Fleet Wraith and Spectre Foreman’s Space Marines of Death Spectres. The video are in parts to follow the action and lengthy in that content. The intent to to see how the actions unfolds if there are particular units you like or don’t understand and it showcases the effected rolls. For me personally it’s my debated argument with other Tyranid players fielding a Venomthorpe. Although Spectre Foreman rolls pretty poorly those that he was accurate on were diminished by this elite choice.

Spectre Studio’s 1st Video Battle Report
Hey this is Spectre Senence here. I have been playing 40K since the 2nd edition and dabbled in many of GW side games like Space Hulk, Man o’ War, Blood Bowl & many others. I’m also a storyteller, having finally ended a 20+ year campaign as a Dungeon Master. I do play other games such as War Machine & Malifauex but with full-time work, three kids and a fourth on the way, there isn’t enough hours in the day. So GW as being the easiest to get a game in takes my time.

Damn you GW and your cool but late models!
Over the last week I have made some progress on painting one of my Grey Hunter squads and on building my fifth DIY drop pod. I have not actually taken any pictures though, so no hobby update for today. Perhaps I’ll manage a mid-week update to make up for it.
So instead, how about a little rant about GW and their late to the table creations?

Rok Da Vote: GW Price Increase Poll Closed
Saving Money!
Amberclad here and I wanted to take this time to introduce myself seeing as I’ll be one of the new writers here at creative twilight. I’m an avid gamer of all sorts with warhammer 40k being my favorite game of them all. I’ve been playing since mid 3rd edition, survived the horror that was 4th edition and have done pretty well in the glorious 5th. As of right now I maintain 2 standing armies, Black Templars and air cavalry Imperial Guard. I hope to be bringing a wide variety of topics from the modeling and painting side of our hobby to the competitive side seeing as I love both equally. So with all introduction aside I guess I’ll start with my first ever article and something that has been on my mind for a while.
