Rok Da Vote: GW Price Increase Poll Closed
Saving Money!
Amberclad here and I wanted to take this time to introduce myself seeing as I’ll be one of the new writers here at creative twilight. I’m an avid gamer of all sorts with warhammer 40k being my favorite game of them all. I’ve been playing since mid 3rd edition, survived the horror that was 4th edition and have done pretty well in the glorious 5th. As of right now I maintain 2 standing armies, Black Templars and air cavalry Imperial Guard. I hope to be bringing a wide variety of topics from the modeling and painting side of our hobby to the competitive side seeing as I love both equally. So with all introduction aside I guess I’ll start with my first ever article and something that has been on my mind for a while.

Games Workshop Raises Prices…Whatever
You can find the articles damn near everywhere, this isn’t so much about the fact that they are raising prices as it is my attitude towards it. That attitude is indifference. I’d love if they never raised prices, who the hell wouldn’t? However, the reality is that prices will increase on everything you ever buy. I’m more pissed off when prices rise on commodities, you know the stuff you need to survive, than I am when GW hikes up prices on my hobby. What’s the going rate on gas now?
Does Size Really Matter?
TastyTaste over at Blood of Kittens has been running a series called In Defense of 1500 that I’ve found interesting. When I got into playing 40K with my friends we were always playing 1,500 games, sometimes we’d go up to 1,750 or 1,850. Initially I was building my army and couldn’t do very large games. However, after I had my Orks built up to a relatively large army we still continued doing smaller games, occasionally tossing down a 2,000 for the fun of it.
Games Workshop – Downloadable Content
March will see the release of the latest 40K expansion, Battle Missions. Bell of Lost Souls posted up a video sneak peak a few weeks ago that you can see over at the BoLS site.
This morning Joe contacted me about doing some work for a full Space Marine company he has. Joe has 6 Tactical squads, 2 Devastator squads, a 6-man Assault squad, 6 Land Speeders, about 10 Dreadnoughts and 3 Predators. I’ll be doing the modeling on the company, cleaning them up, assembling them and priming them for him. I’ll also be doing some base painting on the infantry. It’s going to be a big task but it will be very cool to see a full company all at once. I’ll be sure to get shots once the projects gets fully underway.
