Lamentations of an Ork Player
Where to begin? I suppose it doesn’t matter seeing as this article will have very little structure to it, unless you count pissing and moaning as structure. My FLGS is hosting a 40K tournament this Saturday. It’s a hobby focused event that’s heavy on the army composition. Being the masochist I am, I decided to bring my Orks out of retirement. A decision I’ve regretted since I conceived it.

Know when to hold em
Last Wednesday I got a 1500 point game in against Amberclad. I brought out my Grey Knights and he fielded his Dark Eldar. You may not know this but Amberclad is kind of a big deal. I will also tell you that I have beat him, more than once. However he won this game. By that I mean he beat me like a school girl and I cried.

Dawn of War II – The Last Stand and the Morons Who Play It
First, as much as I enjoy the DoW series (Dawn of War), I don’t normally do ranked matches or public games. I did for a while but the fact is that I’m not great at RTS (real time strategy), games. The genre for me has always been more about fun than it has anything serious. I have fun playing as Space Marines or Orks and just smashing stuff but I also get annoyed being manhandled by 13 year old kids who spend all their free time playing.

The Whiner
The whiner comes in many varieties. So many in fact it’s hard to nail them all down. Instead I’ll focus on the primary ones I see but even this is a small sampling.
The Inner Voice
Alright folks, I’ve tried to be good and suppress that inner voice but I can’t do it. When I decided to kick off this blog with some of my 40K ramblings I figured I’d be a good boy and keep that voice inside my head quiet. I didn’t want to scare away readers, I wanted to build a base of readers instead. Well, the voice is winning out. I rant and I enjoy it. I try to not be too dick’ish about my rantings and try to keep it founded and not completely off the wall. I don’t rant for the sake ranting…normally.
