I’m taking a quick break from my Defiler I’m working on. I’ve made a ton of progress on it but I’m getting a bit burned-out. So, I thought I would work on my Karanak model. Obviously this isn’t the Games Workshop model and honestly I forget whose model it is, though I’m leaning towards Reaper. I really liked the model and I’m not a fan of the 3-headed Karanak GW model, so here we are.
I still have a ways to go on this model but most of the hard parts are done. It’s really hard to pick up in these shots but right now I have two layers of gray on the skin. The base gray is a really dark grey, Eshin Grey by GW. It’s damn close to black and it’s what I wanted since I want this black but to have some layering as well. The highlight on that is Cold Grey, a Vallejo color. I’ll hit the highest points from here with yet another grey and the skin will be done.
My Flesh Hounds are done in a more traditional Khorne Red, so if you’re wondering why I went with a black skin, that’s why, so he stands out from the Flesh Hounds since his size and features aren’t vastly different from theirs. Plus, I like to try different stuff.
The fur is not done. It’s just base coated and washed. I’ll layer this up to a Blood Red.
I’m happy with how this is coming along and it’s a nice break from the larger Defiler project.
