Do Something Great

Fellow Bloggers, I Have a Question for You (Feedback Needed)

I’m floating the idea of running an webinar to teach fellow wargamers and painters who are also bloggers how to do SEO (search engine optimization). If you’re unfamiliar, SEO is the process of setting up your blog to be found by search engines (Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc). The caveat to this though is it would be specifically for WordPress. Sorry Blogger/Blogspot users :(

See, my day job is a PHP programmer for a local web hosting company. The other hat I wear at my job is doing SEO for customers. Of course, I also have this blog, and 5 other blogs (yeah, 6 total), so I’m always doing SEO as a hobby as well. So, I thought I’d combine hobbies. Plus, I just enjoy teaching.

The idea is that I’d show people how to setup the plugins they’d need and show everyone how to use them. With that, I’d teach the basics of SEO and give everyone actionable advice they can immediately put to use on their own blogs.

The webinar would be live (of course), cost a nominal amount of money (seriously cheap), and be interactive. Oh, the first one I do would be free too. I need guinea pigs after all ;)

I’m specifically targeting wargamers and painters because it’s a niche I know. I’m also targeting WordPress users because it’s also a niche I know. No offense to those using Blogger/Blogspot, but it’s just not a good platform for SEO and it’s not what I use; sorry.

So, who would be interested in something like that? Like I said, it’s an idea I’m floating that I’d love to do if the interest is there. However, if nobody is interested, then of course I don’t want to waste my time and effort either.

Thoughts, ideas, suggestions?

Sounds like a very interesting idea.

I’d run a cross platform poll to see if there is in fact interest. Make sure to include a section indicating how much they’d be willing to pay for the webinar (even if its just a dollar).

I’m interested. There’s always something new to learn!
