Progress continues on the Heldrake. It is by far the most annoying model I’ve painted but I’m just sucking it up and plowing through it. That’s not to say I’m not enjoying it but there are so many tedious elements to this model that it’s just painful at times.
Anyway, here’s some shots of the body. I have the armor elements in place. I still have to do another coat on the metal since that’s just the base color I go over, but it’s looking like something now.
As always, my WIP shots kind of suck :P
I’m still debating the more fleshy parts of the model. All the hoses are organic and there’s flesh around the legs. The bone-like areas will be done that way, as bone, but the fleshy bits I’m not sure on yet. One thing I considered is doing all those areas like muscle. I have a muscle technique I really like that I think will fit in here. So, all the hoses and flesh would be done that way to pull it all together as opposed to hoses one color, flesh another.
