Monthly Archives: January 2012
This month, two days ago actually, marked the second year of me blogging. As I’ve mentioned before I began this blog for commission painting in June of 2009. In January of 2010 I started blogging about 40K and eventually phased out the commission painting.
At my FLGS we’re going to be starting something that’s been dubbed Master & Apprentice and it’s what it sounds like. I’m posting about it because I think it’s an awesome idea that any gaming group should do now and then.
I’ve spent so much time working on it that I forgot Command Center turned 1-year old in November. Technically it’s far older than that since for the first two’ish years of its life it was known and used only by me. However, just over a year ago I threw it out there to the public. To those not familiar, Command Center it is a free army list building tool for Warhammer 40K.
I’m trying to take a new approach to my Chaos lists. At this point I’m over the honeymoon stage where I feel compelled to throw down all sorts of different stuff to learn about the army. That’s not to say there aren’t still units I want to test out, still plenty of those, but that I’m comfortable with the army now at least. So on Wednesday when I got to play I brought along this list: http://cmdctr.net/lists/712. I was planning on an 1,850 game so I threw in the Havocs to make points, it was quick and easy.
Lately I have been thinking about my GK build. When GK was launched I saw an opportunity to make a quirky army filled with a variety of henchmen. I like to kit bash and collect minis from different ranges.
Let’s get right to it. Wednesday I got to play a practice team game for tomorrow’s team tournament at my FLGS. I partnered with a Daemon player and we played against two Blood Angels players. I was running Chaos with the following list: . In my typical fashion I’ll cover these games in broad strokes.
Lately there has been a hate wagon rolling thru the internetz and game stores alike. People bitter and outraged over the Grey Knights. “Grey Knights have broke the game…” “Only WAACs and crapy players play Grey Knights.” Well world you get my angry face.
I’d like to think I’m good with rules but this one I’ve never been 100% sure about and half those I play sees it one way and the rest the other way. Let’s set this up with the following image regarding multiple combats.
I put up some shots of this Chaos Terminator a while ago. I honestly haven’t accomplished a ton with him since but have made progress. I also wanted to try out the small light box I made the other day so here’s a quick shot of how he’s coming along.
