Disciples of Twilight: 1,000pt 40K Tournament List

ListI’m getting ready to head out to a 1,000pt 40K tournament at my LGS this morning and thought I would share the list I’m trying out. I don’t normally post my lists, though I do occasionally in my Battle Reviews, but I’m pretty excited to try this out so why not share it?

First and foremost, the list is not built to be competitive. I have spent a great deal of time working on my Warpsmith model and I want to get him on the table. The list is built around that choice, as will be apparent. My choices in the list are models I enjoy for one reason or another and not because they are point efficient. This is something I put together because I think it will be a fun list to play.

With that out of the way, the list itself can be seen here: http://cmdctr.net/lists/disciples-of-twilight-1000-wwarpsmith-by-thor/. The list is pretty straightforward. The Warpsmith hangs with the 9-man CSM squad in the Rhino. I had some points left so I tossed a gift of mutation on him to hopefully give him a bit more of an edge.

This list is also a 1K version of my 1,500 list for Fratris Salutem that I’m considering. I want to get some more practice in with the Warpsmith to get more familiar with him only having used him a few times. As I said the other week, he more suits my style of play in a support role than the Sorcerer does. Of course play testing will prove that one way or the other and that’s just what I’m doing. Next week some time I’ll get a Battle Review up of my findings.

  • Warren Falconer

it was a really fun list to play against I look forward to seeing where you go with the remaining 500 points.

    • I’m considering changing things up a bit. I have a batrep going up tomorrow but meanwhile I found the Helbrutes very underwhelming, at least as I had them setup, so I may swap things around there (remove both, remove one, change load-outs…not sure). However, it was a fun list to play as well since it was a break from my usual blood thirsty charge forward approach.
