Space Marine Coming to the PC
I first saw a leaked demo of this game over a year ago now and was impressed by what I had seen. Since that leaked demo I have seen official video releases and they were all stunning.
The Death of Tau Online and a Rebirth
If you happen to visit Tau Online you’ll notice that a bomb has landed there. For those who did not know, I’m a moderator (was), at TO. About a year ago the site was sold off to someone called skylight. For the most part things ran smoothly under the new ownership. Recently, skylight implemented running ads on the site. Nobody had a real issue with it but some of the ads became invasive and a real annoyance and thus the community spoke up.
A few changes you’ll notice. First, I’m trying to sticky the most recent articles of value so they stick to the top. If you only come here to read something slightly insightful then those are stuck at the top with the blue background. Second, there are these things called asides you’re going to see. Basically these are small blurbs and not full blown articles, exactly what you’re reading now! These are sprinkled everywhere and what I like about labeling things as asides, like this article, is that it doesn’t draw attention away from the “real” articles I have here but gets some info out there.
I’ve updated the blog to the newest version and with it comes a lot of great things. I’m in the process of setting up the theme and changing the way things look. The theme I was using was a bit intensive and I’m hoping the stock theme will work out better.
I’ve noticed over this past month that I’ve had a lot of viewers finding this site from the Crossroad’s forums. So first off, welcome and hopefully you haven’t found the mean things I’ve said about you all on the site. Just kidding…I think. Secondly, if any of you are potentially interested in contributing to this site with 40K articles then let me know. The articles would be posted by you and so you’ll get full credit for your contributions.
Warhammer 40K MMO: Dark Millennium Online
Here’s our first glimpse at the upcoming MMO for 40K from E3.
Creative Twilight is One Year Old!
One year ago I started this site promoting commission painting. In the course of a year much has changed here. In that time I’ve only done commission work for two clients, one client came back for another round, and I’m in the process of doing work for a third client. With not much to post about regarding commission work I began posting some of my 40K ramblings and have really since become hooked on it. There are a lot of great 40K blogs out there but I figured I’d try and carve myself a niche if I could. I haven’t quite gotten there yet but I’m working on it and I don’t give up easy. I have a lot to learn about blogging still and hopefully some day my writing and articles here will match my passion for 40K. Also, Kamui, who is a personal friend of mine, is posting articles here too. He hasn’t put much up yet but hopefully that will change…right, Kamui?
Ultramarines Movie Teaser
So, the other day we got our first glimpse at the upcoming Ultramarines movie. Below is the teaser.
If you haven’t noticed there are multiple ways to stay connected with the site. At the very top you’ll notice icons for an RSS Feed (using FeedBurner), Twitter and Facebook. To the right you’ll see that Disqus is used for commenting (which uses multiple services), and Google Friend Connect for following. Regardless of your medium for social interactions you should be able to keep updated with us here.
In Unrelated News – Scrubs Canceled
As a big fan of Scrubs I felt I had to post something. Yesterday it was all but officially confirmed that Scrubs will not renew for a season 10 and has been canceled. This past season was a let down for a lot of Scrubs fans without all of our favorite actors and actresses present. Some fans came around towards the end of the season but it was apparently too late and ABC has axed it. I personally enjoyed season 9. It certainly wasn’t the Scrubs of prior years (how could it be?), but it was still a good show.
Oi! Dere’s da git!
Well, it’s only been about a month since Thor introduced me and already I’m adding my own post! How’s that for efficient!
Shamless Plug
My wife does Pampered Chef on the side and she wanted me to pass this along.
Help me make my wish come true…and your April order could be magical for YOU, too!
WOW…Pampered Chef is going to grant one lucky Consultant an overnight stay at Cinderella’s Castle!
The previous theme was very clean looking, professional and nicely done but it was a pain in my ass. I put a ton of work into revising it so I was happy with it and even then I had some issues still. Most of those issues got resolved in a new version of theme, which was great, but at the same time all my work was gone. I of course had backups of the work I did but even still it meant making all those updates again…just not worth it. Plus, really the style was for magazines with the cool image slider and post images. Most of the images I was using I probably shouldn’t have been and that theme put the focus on the images and less on the content. So all that being said, I’m happy with this theme you’re seeing. It’s clean and simple and easy to work with from the back end.
Welcome Aboard, Kamui!
I’ve asked a friend of mine, Kamui, to jump on board here and write some articles when he has a chance, and he’s agreed.
Hello…is Anyone There?
Having revised the format of my site to actually start blogging about 40K I’ve seen an increase in traffic, which is great. As I stated when I started doing this, I have no illusions that this is going to be anything revolutionary and become the must-read 40K blog out there. There are too many great 40K blogs going already, many of which I read myself. However, hopefully I offer up something useful here and some items of interest.
March will see the release of the latest 40K expansion, Battle Missions. Bell of Lost Souls posted up a video sneak peak a few weeks ago that you can see over at the BoLS site.
It was about time for a new look here. The theme I was using before I had built off of an existing theme. Since I was just getting familiar with WordPress I kept it simple. Many months later and having played around a lot with it, I’ve grabbed this great theme and am still in the process of getting things setup. I’ll probably alter the theme it a bit to give some flavor but out of the box this theme is just great and I see very little that I need to bother altering.
Dawn of War II – Chaos Rising
I’m a fan of the Dawn of War series; it’s what started getting my interest in 40K table top.
I have some fluff and stories I’ve written for my 40K armies that has existed on a private forum I set up for my friends and I. Seeing as it has always been private I figured it was time to put it out there for others to read who may be interested.
Changes are Coming!
I set up this site originally for commission painting, and I’ll continue doing commission painting, but seeing as that’s just something I do for fun, well I feel this site is being wasted. By that I mean that I don’t do a lot of commission work and meanwhile the site just sits here collecting dust so I may as well make use of it. I plan to turn this into a 40k blog where I post the things that float around in my head like fluff for my armies, some battle reports, general 40k thoughts, things of that nature.
