Community Pimp’n: Fourth Week of April 2014

The long lost series of Community Pimp’n articles has returned. I can’t say how frequently I’ll do these, it used to be weekly, but I’m going to attempt some regularity with it.

These are aimed at delivering cool articles from other blogs I find that you may not have read and giving them some exposure. Let’s jump in, shall we?

Community Pimp’n

Warpstone Flux: Technology in Warhammer 40,000. 1: Transmission Systems
Warpstone Flux: Technology in Warhammer 40,000. 2: Power Generation

Part One and Two of a series on, as the titles suggest, technology in Warhammer 40K. It’s a look back at the technologies described in Rogue Trader and a summary and review of those technologies. I got into Warhammer 40K long after Rogue Trader and so this is all ‘new’ information for me and the series is a great quick read.

Thin Your Paint!: Review: Helion Rain (audio drama)

TheRhino picked up the audio drama, Helion Rain, and gave a review of it and there’s no spoilers. I’ve often contemplated picking up some of the audio dramas but was reluctant to do so. After reading TheRhino’s review I’m convinced that I just need to pick one up and give it a shot.

Tom Schadle Miniatures: New Citadel Hobby Tools – Don’t Throw Money Away

This is a great PSA about the new Games Workshop hobby tools they are selling. There’s a great price breakdown of how you can get more for less by not purchasing the GW line.

Brink’s Chaos Theory: Space Wolf Adventure: “Hunted” (part 1 of 7)
Brink’s Chaos Theory: Space Wolves vs Traitor Guard: “Hunted” (part 2 of 7)

JD is doing a series on his Space Wolves fiction leading up to the Amazon Countdown Deal on his novel, Tarnish, and the related noveletteĀ The Prince of Luster and Decay. He put up the first part of the series here, on Creative Twilight, but he will put up the rest on his own blog, a chapter a day.

As of the time of putting together this article he has two parts up and likely the third when this publishes. It’s a great read and you should definitely check it out.

Hey, thanks for the plug, Thor. Greatly appreciated!!!

    • No problem.

    • Awesome. The Prince of Luster and Decay is showing up in some of the site ads here for Audible :)

      • JD Brink

That is awesome! It and “A Long Walk” both show up on my yahoo ads as well, but I figured that was because I go to them to check and work on them. Great to know they’re showing up “naturally” as well. :)
