I took home the score sheets from the past tournament to evaluate my missions and this one is in desperate need of some balancing. Every match that day except for one ended in a massacre. The biggest problem was the single objective, almost guaranteeing the first to it would score a massacre. The big change below is adding the ability to score for holding table quarters. I figure this should help offset getting second turn or just not being fast enough to reach the center objective first to hold and defend it. I also raised the massacre requirement to 3x your opponent’s score instead of 2.5x their score.
King of the Hill
Secure the the central objective and table quarters while preventing the enemy from doing the same.
One objective is placed in the center of the table. At the end of each game turn you gain points for scoring units doing any of the following:
Holding the Center Objective – 3pts
Holding a Table Quarter – 1pt for each quarter
If a unit is in more than one table quarter then they must choose which they are holding; you can’t score two different quarters with one unit. Likewise, a unit holding the center objective can choose to hold that objective or a table quarter they are in, not both.
Standard game length or time, whichever comes first.
Infiltrate, scout, deep strike, reserves, outflank, seize the initiative, night fight turn #5 onward
Massacre – 3 times more points than your opponent
Major – 2 times more points than your opponent
Minor – 1.5 times more points than your opponent
Draw – Any other condition
* NOTE: If you table your opponent then you may use the remaining turns, if there are any left, to achieve the mission objective.
Battle Point Modifiers
+1 destroying all enemy Troops
+1 for having none of your units in your deployment zone at the end of the game
+1 if you held the central objective for 3 consecutive turns
+1 if you held all four table quarters at the end of the game
+1 if the enemy never held the central objective
