Standish Standoff Painting Entries Completed (Showcase)
I have all my models painted that I’m entering into the painting competition for the Standish Standoff called the Bronze Spawn.
Miniature hobby stuff is mostly what we do here. We all love gaming, but we all spend more time building armies, and painting them, than we do playing. That’s the beauty of a game like Warhammer 40K, it’s an all-encompassing hobby from modeling, to painting an army, to playing the game.
We have a broad range of hobby articles here covering modeling, sculpting and painting. Many of us do a fair amount of conversion work for our armies. It’s always fun to personalize your miniatures, and really make them to your vision.

Terrain storage can be tricky. In this tutorial I show how I fit enough terrain for a 4×6 gaming table into a single box.
I decided to re-do my display board, and do a magnetized version instead. Using sheet metal, cork board, and spackling I built up the display board.

Here’s my DIY barbed wire tutorial for terrain. It’s simple, inexpensive and very convincing. Great for Warhammer 40K or Bolt Action games.

I created a template to build a Taurox for my Rebel Grots army, counts-as Astra Militarum. You can see the Taurox template here and a built Taurox.
I painted all day and managed to finish Colonel ‘Iron Hand’ Straken as well as my Plague Lord. Here’s a bunch of shots of Iron Hand and the Plague Lord.
This is a tutorial on creating custom rubble bases really simply with just three things. You can really crank these out in little time. It really adds some great visual interest to your miniature bases with little work.
