Hello all,
I’ve added sponsons to the second Leman Russ Exterminator. They’re pretty much the same as the first one I did, nothing really new. I still need to add the weapon mounts and weapons for these. Here’s a shot of the two of them:
I am still working toward a 1500 point list for the Fratris Salutem. The event has been postponed to give players and referees some time to get familiar with 7th. While it’s a bit disappointing to have the event delayed (and with it still unscheduled I can’t be sure I’ll be able to attend) it does give me some extra time to finish my army. Here is the army as it currently stands:
There is some painting to do but the only model I am missing is the Primaris Psyker. I have a necromunda psyker that I am using for now and that might be what I go with for the Fratris. The Rebel Grots’ equipment and vehicles are primarily manufactured by enslaved humans so it makes perfect sense to me that the Rebel Grots would use human mercenaries and/or slaveson the battlefield as well. And since we don’t currently see Grot psykers in the fluff a mercenary makes the most sense. I have been toying with the idea of the Grots using funky technology to mimic psychic abilities, Perils results representing catastrophic failure of this tech. But for now I’m going with a mercenary psyker. Once I finish the Russ sponsons, and maybe some extra armor plating here and there, I will move into painting.
As a side note, I have a few extra vehicles on deck as well. Once I finish this core 1500 points it will be easy to expand further!
That’s what I’ve got for now. Thanks for looking!

Looking great. We’ll have to see if your progress holds up in the face of a new Ork codex ;)
Thanks. The Ork codex is definitely a temptation that will be difficult to resist. And with the new Allies matrix I can no longer field my Rebel Grots as Ork backup!
You can. Even ‘come the apocalypse’ can be fielded, you just have to deal with the issues that come with it.
Can’t wait to see what’s in store for Orks. This will be the first codex I’ve bought since Chaos.
That’s true, and “Desparate Allies” might be a better fit for the Rebel Grot fluff anyway. I’m sure they would have a hard time trusting the Orks on the battlefield and vise versa. I’ve had it in my mind that desperate allies were best avoided but needing to keep them 6″ away from each other really wouldn’t be a problem in this case.
I’m also eager to see what the new Ork codex will bring, but I’ll probably give it a few months before I buy a copy. With the Astra Militarum codex and 7th edition rules so recently released I have to let the hobby coffers refill!
