True Metallic Metal: Painting Chrome (An Experiment)
I’m working on some trophies for a Warhammer 40K event. I’m painting these quickly and I’m using a true metallic metal technique on them.
Miniature painting is one of the favorite elements of the hobby for all of the authors here. So, there really is no shortage of models to check out.
We paint for Warhammer 40K, Age of Sigmar, Blood Bowl, Bolt Action, Kings of War, Frostgrave, and so much more. Hell, you’ll even find wargaming terrain in here as well. If it needs paint then it’s in here.
We also have tips and some tutorials to help other miniature painters. None of us are professionals, however, we have spent a considerable amount of time painting. So, we certainly have our fair share of tricks to share.

My converted Rebel Grot Commissar is finally finished! Quite a bit of sculpting and painting time went into this and I’m very pleased with the results.
Kamui and I got the chance to take a painting clinic with Todd Swanson and Kirill Zhilkov. We learned a rust technique and freehand work. It was awesome.
This is the painting showcase for my Chaos Space Marines Helbrute named Deathcry. He has magnetized arms to cover all the weapon choices.
I have managed to paint up the first five in a squad for my Bloodletters of Khorne. Nothing too fancy, just basic tabletop quality.

Having a good hobby light is crucial. You never realize how bad your current lighting is until you upgrade. So, here’s my recommendation.
I converted a Christmas tree angel into a Weeping Angel tree topper for our Christmas tree. I’ve hidden it from the kids. How long until they find it?
I have all my models painted that I’m entering into the painting competition for the Standish Standoff called the Bronze Spawn.
I decided to re-do my display board, and do a magnetized version instead. Using sheet metal, cork board, and spackling I built up the display board.
I’ve been working on painting up an Eisenhorn model from Inquisitor. It’s been a painful process to get this Eisenhorn model painted but here’s some shots.
I’ve put together a diorama of Lelith vs Lemartes in a diorama to enter into a local painting competition. I’ve got a full gallery of pics.
