Warp Discovery: Death Korps of Krieg
This week I have a few more short movies, well, one is more of a clip. These are from ShroudFilm and feature a Death Korps of Krieg trooper. The special effects aren’t bad but it’s really the great job on the custom that makes these great.

Spectre Studio Character Video Battle Report: Apocolypse!
Well I finally was able to get on of our Studio BatRep with yours truly Thor into this video battle report. The members of our FLGS were intent on pushing Imperial Armor Forgeworld models into our upcoming tournaments so the Apocalypse idea for our regular Wednesday was a great format to showcase them. Amberclad87 then thought filming this fight would be very cool so we went for it and did.

Battle Report: Spectre Studio “New” Character
This is a Spectre Studio’s different style video Battle Report by Spectre Senence. What’s the change? Well I have played this hobby awhile and I enjoy playing with a fun personality into my armies. This stems from decades as a Dungeon Master. So I decided I want to improve the entertaining value of Spectre Studio’s battle reports without sacrificing too much content so they hold no tactica value. So the attempt is to infused some of my crazy concepts into the armies I play while filming these BatReps.

Battle Report: Disciples of Twilight vs Cobra
Wednesday my Chaos Marines faced Imperial Guard. His army is themed as Cobra. Wish I had a shot of his army, it’s cool, complete with Cobra Commander and Destro. You can see it a bit on the left image.

Weekly Battle: Kill Team Tournament
Every now and then we do these small tournaments on the regular 40K night at the LGS. Last night we did a Kill Team tournament. I mulled around various ideas and in the end just went with throwing down 7 Immortals. Having T5 in such a small game meant I likely would not see an instant death weapon, so always getting WBB from shooting if I kept my Immortals close enough. I gave one of them tank hunter, another FNP and the last furious charge.

Weekly Battle: Scalpel vs Hammer
Last night the my Marines, the Emperor’s finest, faced off against Imperial Guard, the workhorse of the Imperium. We opted to play a Battle Mission, I believe it was called Prepared Assault, an Imperial Guard mission. Deployment was length-wise up to the board center and victory conditions was using victory points but only for completely destroyed units. Any troops that were destroyed would go into reserves and come back on.

April Tournament Report: Snow…Seriously?
It was raining in the morning and by the time I got to the LGS for the monthly tournament it was snowing. Even for Maine that’s uncharacteristic and it did clear off later in the day and go figure, the next day was damn near 70 degrees. It is a rather good analogy of my day of gaming.

Weekly Battle Report: April 6th – Air Cavalry
As with last week’s battle report and wanting to play test my revised missions, we did so last night and ran King of the Hill. I was playing against an IG player, amongst other armies, and he was running an in-progress Air Cavalry list. This player is someone I’ve played a lot at the LGS and lose against way more often than not, especially against his IG. His list was roughly:

Battle Report: 1,750 FLGS Tournament
This past Saturday was the the monthly tournament at my FLGS. As the title states, it was 1,750 and we had a great showing of 17 players. Dave, who works there, plays when we have odd numbers so we had nine games going on for the day. I’ll dive right in and try and keep this short since I’m not a fan of a long-winded battle report and I imagine others share that sentiment.

Tournament: Battle for the Burbs Report
Saturday, March 12th, was the Battle for the Burbs, an even put on by the Dorkamorka club in Watertown, MA. It was a 1,750 tournament for 30 players, though only 24 made it, that was heavy on the soft scores. Normally I’m all about keeping soft scores out of a tournament in determining the winner but really I thought it was a nice change of pace. Sometimes you have to mix it up to keep things fresh and fun. Six of us from the LGS Crossroad Games headed down together for a kick ass day of gaming.
Campaign Report: Second Week – Team Game
Having played our mega-battle the other week and teams now set, last night we played a team game for the campaign. Each team determined the players on their side who would pair up and then who they played was determined randomly. My Orks paired off with a Necron player (who normally plays Space Wolves), and we faced a Tyranid and Blood Angel army. The other game was Daemons and Space Wolves (my team), against Imperial Guard and Necrons (other team).

Quick Report: Another Team Tournament Practice
Last night we got in another practice game for the upcoming team tournament at Crossroad Games. The tournament will be 1,250 per-player and has a restricted forge organization: 1 HQ, 0-1 Elites, 1-3 Troops, 0-1 Fast Attack, 0-1 Heavy Support. You can double up one of the 0-1 slots. Oh, and it’s random partners.

September Team Tournament Wrap-up
This was the second team tournament I’ve done and like the last time I had a good time. It’s nice to have someone to confer with and discuss strategy as you play. Of course there’s the interesting pairings that occur too that make for fun games.

July’s 1,850 Tournament Results
Another long and mentally tiring game of moving plastic models around a table and rolling dice. I didn’t fair poorly but I did not win the tournament and did not win any consolation prizes either, IE: best army, best sport and…there was another one. For the day I went 2-1, getting a massacre win, a minor loss and then a major win. Here’s the quick and dirty, oh and I was playing my Ork list that I mentioned here:

Legion of the Damned
It seems everyone loves Legion of the Damned (LoD), for their fluff but many have reservations about fielding them. Many argue that for the points you get more use out of Sternguard. Being someone who also enjoys their fluff and loves the new models for them, well I had to give them a shot. Now, when I write tacticas they aren’t written to tell you how to use something, instead they are generally more my experience with a unit and my thoughts. I’ll never claim to know the absolute best way to do anything but I do enjoy sharing my views.
